Default How much is too much?

I'm trying to find someone to design a website for my real estate career. How much is too much to spend and does it matter how much you spend? Does it have to do with the design or just the rankings and is there anyone with an opinion of the "free" website from Real Agent? Free does not sound promising, just wanted to see someone else's outlook on that!

You can buy RE template for $20, and edit in frontpage. My preference is dreamweaver. However, I would NEVER do this. I know, how to make a website and web page optimization. It seems easy by reading all those information out there, however, it is pretty difficult. Especially, if you are competing for competitive "Keyword".

In my opinion RE websites are designed to bring the business to you, if your purpose is to give your URL and let them visit your site, than its a different story.

However, most of the member here are looking for avenues, when a person search for related keyword and hopefully they click on their website, once there, they will have tools and info to convert visitors into leads.

Send a PM to Webmaster, he has created RE website, and those sites rank 7. Page Rank 7 is very rare for real estate agent. Maybe he can guide you in the right direction.

    Cheers

RE= Real Estate, PR or Page Rank is a technology used by Google. Most of the webmaster, focus on Google.

PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a page's importance from the votes cast for it. How important each vote is is taken into account when a page's PageRank is calculated.

PageRank is Google's way of deciding a page's importance. It matters because it is one of the factors that determines a page's ranking in the search results. It isn't the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one.

I wouldnt worry about not knowing much, I started out like yourself. If you found this place, you are ahead of the game, in comparision to majority of the realtors.

I would download Google toolbar, once installed, every website you will visit it will show a green bar, and if you put your cursor (Mouse) over it, it will show the PR (page Rank)
http://toolbar.google.com/ Max number is 10 being the highest value, pages like Yahoo.com has 10 PR.

Also, visit www.akamarketing.com and about.com they have a great beginner section. You will get a handle on this within a week.

    Cheers!

One more thing, go to members directory on this website and visit webpages of the members. You will get a good idea from it. Lots of members here designed their own pages.

Most of the pages shows up within few pages of google SERP (Search Engine Result page, when you search google, the result shows it is calledSERP) If you look at the google search page it will show how many pages are there in result, for example if you search phoenix real estate There are 3 million pages based on the search input "Phoenix real estate", however, #5 out of 3million pages is matt0111 site www.phoenixhomes.com .

"Keyword" is word or phrase that you type in when you are searching for information in the search engines.

PR isn't king like it once was, but to say it doesn't help your ranking is not correct. The way I look at it now, PR helps the page you are linking to rank. So if your home page has a high PR, pages linked from it will rank well.
