PLEASE, HELP newinrealestate (he started this thread)

My suggestion is if you are looking for free, contact Major title companies, and get your OWN domain. All they ask is you give them business and place their small advertisement on the website.

Once you promote your website, and learn, and make LOTS of $$$, have it done professionally and optimized.

    ANYONE ELSE?

I say buy a decent domain + hosting right away, start building content (Even if you dont know how to publish it to the web) Then once you have some decent content send a nice PM to webmaster (Oh thats me lol) and I will build you a half hour, SEO friendly frame to stick it in (This doesnt include graphics but MEH its free! Lol) Once you ahve played around with the site I build for you (Remembering to come here and ask lots of questions) you can move onto link building (Again come here for advice) and then once you have made some $ in the market, and understand a little more about converting leads etc, come back and hire a professional ( I suggest webmaster I hear he's GREAT) and spend a buttload of $ getting a top notch site that will convert like you wouldnt believe.

    newinrealestate,

I would JUMP all over this one. Also, I know, he is not trying to sell you anything. He knows your position, however, once you do make it, I am sure he will recover

Thanks everyone for your input. I want to make the best of this knowledge, but have to admit I'm still VERY NEW to the whole website jargan. Right now I'm trying to familiarize myself with a website glossary so I can better understand everything. ( sorry if that sounds dumb!) I just know nothing about all this and need a way to understand the advice! I'll get the hang of this soon! Right now I feel a like three year old that needs a list of steps to follow or pictures!!!

You will get a hold of all this, I think you jumped into this forum, and to be honest with you many members are way ahead of the game.

I will tell you this, most member are far more educated than most web design/webmaster companies around.

Also, far as SEO (Search engine Optimization), and it seems to be a HOT topic here, very few percentage of those companies are doing it. I have visited their site created for clients, and I see missing info, which is crucial for google.

Dont get confused by all this, keep coming here everyday read all of the post, go to a good online dictionary and look up words.

Also, I believe a member posted a good link, it has all of the basics. Another good source you may want to check www.about.com and look for subject regarding basic website info. They have great tutorial.

If I were you I would spend good 4 hours on that site, read all I can take notes.

Go to bookstore and buy a "Dummies" book, they have several topics.

Hang in do those things and you will be better than majority of realtors in your area.

    ASK QUESTIONS, I ALWAYS DO.

Web Site -- A site (location) on the World Wide Web. Each Web site contains a home page, which is the first document users see when they enter the site. The site might also contain additional documents and files. Each site is owned and managed by an individual, company or organization.
