Default Updated Point2 website, Description not changed in Google

My website is still # 1 on Google, this is kind of hard to explain but 2 weeks ago I added a page about the First Time homebuyer credit. Thru the Point2 interface I put it at the top of my page index.
Fresh content, relevant, timely, sounds like a good idea, right? Well putting it at the top of my page index replaced the Home page with this new page.
And although I had added a Meta-description, Google didn't pick it up.
So now when you search for "Vancouver Washington Real Estate" my "new" home page shows up in the Number 1 spot, with the Meta description " Vancouver Washington Real Estate Information .... Powered by Point2 Professional Powered by Point2 Real Estate Websites The Point2 Homes Real Estate Network"
I didn't notice my mistake for a few days and I corrected the problem but even though the content on my Home page is back to what it should be it still shows up in Google titled "First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit" with the incorrect meta description.
Fortunately I still have the number 2 spot two which appears correctly, but my traffic has dropped off significantly.
I immediately submitted a new Google Sitemap, but it still has not been re-indexed by Google.

Any ideas as to why the meta description is wrong (the new page meta description was never correct in Google) and why the Google sitemap re-submit didn't fix this?

    My website is: www.clarkcounty4sale.net
If you do a Google search for Vancouver Washington Real Estate, you will see the problem.

    Thanks,

I personally hate Point 2 websites. Do you have enough categories on the left?

There are lots of things that I don't like about Point2, but hey, I started with them and I have been #1 on Google for 3 years.
I did usability testing for years, users hate slide out menus. The engineers love all the latest and greatest tricks but a simple left nav is the easiest to use.

Point2 websites exchange links with each other. IMO they are not the best looking websites and google could possibly hammer them down the road. Only time will tell.

Wow ! That's unbelievable! I am sooo canceling my account with them. I was planning on doing it but now I'm actually going to speed things up!

Other than trashing Point2, CLTMichael has not responded with anything helpful about my initial post. The report he included in his reply references inbound links seen by Yahoo. Google has it's own system for ranking inbound links and looking at what Yahoo reports for inbound links is irrelevant.

You can enable or disable the Point2 agent links on a Point2 website, my website has had them disabled for years. Any links on my website from Point2 agent websites are one-way. I took down my reciprocal link page 2 years ago when Google was penalizing sites for reciprocal link schemes.

It has been my experience with my website over the last 5 years that Google cares less about inbound links than the SEO so called experts do. Google likes content, lots of relevant content. And my website has that. Google doesn't care if my website is a Point2 website or if it has slick CSS menus. In my experience Yahoo does not like Point2 websites, I really don't care, there are so many sponsored results in Yahoo I don't think the organic results get nearly as much activity as they do in Google.

I have few (like 3) inbound links according to Google. I have a lot of inbound links if you look at Yahoo, I do terrible in Yahoo, but I am #1 on Google for the keywords Vancouver Washington Real Estate. My website is also #2 in Google and Google includes a directory of my pages.

I had a lot more "google" links, back when everyone was doing reciprocal links, Google doesn't seem to care that I only have a few links.

For Lawrence Walsh, if your Point2 website is doing well I would keep it. If it is not then you won't lose anything if you move it.

Personally, if I could be guaranteed that I would not lose my Google ranking, I would move my website to a Wordpress platform. With the right template Wordpress can work as a website rather than a Blog. Then I would truly own my website and not have to pay a company like Point2 or AA.

Roianne, For Google to re-index/re-cache the homepage you just need to be patient. If you would like to get indexed more frequently, you need to create fresh content more frequently and get more inbound links. As far as the snippet goes, Google can use your description that you give it, or it can scour your page for a keyword-dense part of the page that seems to match what searchers are querying for. In your case, the most keyword-dense portion is the footer that advertises your web design company. Google sees the words "real estate" and "homes" down there and grabs that stuff.

You might try adding more keyword density to your first paragraph, maybe making it match your meta description.

Also, I think you have more than 3 inbound links according to Google. Are you using webmaster tools? That is the only way to find out for sure which links Google recognizes. Any other method is less than effective.

My aplogizes if you think I was slamming your website. Google will re index your website, just give it a few days or weeks. If you are number 1 for the term you want, I wouldn't be changing much of anything. Possibly make another website going after a diff keyword in the diff format you want.
