Default getting e-mail addresses from FB for an e-newsletter

So odds are, if you are like me, you have tons of contacts on your Facebook that you don't have contact info for otherwise. Have you considered grabbing e-mail addresses from Facebook and adding them to your e-Newsletter database?

If I did print mail advertising I'd do this without question, but it seems a bit spammy to do it with e-mail. I have been posting a link to my monthly newsletter on my Facebook wall, but I don't know how many people are clicking on that. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hey Stephanie, That is not exactly permission based marketing and is likely to get people upset. I would probably send one email to all your contacts asking if they would like to subscribe to your newsletter rather than automatically adding everyone.

    Good luck

Stephanie- why not post a couple of your newsletters (not every month) on your facebook profile - or even create a facebook page for your real estate business. With people you are friends with on social networking, sometimes it is better just to remind them about what you do vs. market to them like you would your clients.

Give them an easy way to sign up for your newsletter on your FB profile. Then you will get their info voluntarily.

I do have a couple of real estate fan pages for my business. I have a Nashville Foreclosure Update page, A Nashville Condos & Lofts page. and a Nashville Event's Calendar page, but I haven't tried to optimize them just yet.
I really dislike the idea of sending out a note that says "Stephanie Crawford suggests you become a fan of Stephanie Crawford real estate." UGH - that just sounds terrible.

I put together a mid-month newsletter once monthly and e-mail it to a database of about 800 email addresses. For the last few months I've been posting a link to the published newsletter from my wall, but no one ever takes that time to register. And there is really no bold call to action asking them to register.

I suppose I could create a box on my profile asking people to register, but no one would ever see it. I mean, who ever goes to your profile page anyways?? I'd say 9/10th's of my Facebook activity time is concentrated on reading people's updates and links on my home newsfeed page.

I think I'll just stick to posting a newsletter link to my status once a month and updating my status to real estate related activities occasionally.... "Stephanie is at a home inspection.... Stephanie is at a closing.... etc."

the first step you should do is make an assurance that your newsletter would be interesting enough for people to click it be more creative for writing one. Automatically adding everyone might pissed of other people so it is much better to send an email first before adding,
