General question for the future?

I love my LEC 2 now but who knows what the future may hold. By LEC 15 I may want to upgrade. I think the way the contact management system works transferring data may be easy but does REW do anything on the backend to make special comments to the code to all the little upgrades we make on our sites so when that time comes all the upgrades can be duplicated on the new site?

Hi Ben,

We usually do add a comment in the code when we 'hack' the default product. However - it's not a policy to make these comments so the best thing to do is to keep a record of all the custom features that you had added so that when the upgrade time comes it's easy to identify and transfer them over. Sometimes people have such custom code that the whole thing is custom and not really possible to "upgrade" to the new version - but I think someone with an LEC website would do just fine to keep record of all the custom hacks.

Do you guys have any thread or info online about your backup policies? I know we have the backup tool but that is only the text on the page not all the code for our sites right? How often is that backed up? I can see myself having a lot of pages 6-12 months from now

Correct the backup tool is just the text.

We backup the files each day a few times a day. For 6 Months back. The content of the sites is backed up each night and stored for 2 weeks.
