I got in AR a long ago and don't pay for it. I prefer REW blogs for sure. Some of my AR blog posts pop up in neighborhood searches and I think they are useful links.

Other agents in my area blog on AR and fill their posts with spam garbage, too bad the site is not well moderated.

I really don't understand what you are getting at. What did they switch from? Everyone (most people) on there are "Rainmakers" which I assumed means they are paying. You can tell because free people don't get their picture shown when they comment.

I don't pay anything to ActiveRain and I show up as a Rainmaker. I think anyone who produced any sort of local content got tagged a Rainmaker back in the day and now we are grandfathered.

Yeah I don't pay either and I am a Rainmaker. I think if a member keeps their points coming in (by blogging or commenting) they become a Rainmaker.

I was looking at activerain I do have to confess I have a membership there. They do have quite a bit of good articles but I have to admit alot of it is garbage.
