I sit at my desk just about every morning and set up my day. I take the top 6 things I need to get done, figure out the amount of time each task will take, and then do my schedule. I even try to schedule in checking and answering emails and my "gotta minute" meetings from my staff. I'm usually pretty happy if I can get 5 of the 6 things done.
The other routine I started recently was rolling down my windows in the car (well pressing the button to get them down) and cranking out one of my cd's. Lately it's been the best of Styx and Little River Band. Boy I'm getting old. This has helped get my pumped up and in a good mood when I get to the office.

Without being too specific, I don't feel one can even function or stay productive without a daily routine. Every night I write down all things I have to do for the next day. Then I have a few hours each morning that I religously work on certain things. These all goes back to basics of goal planning.![]()

5.50am(ish) - Bike to work.
6.20am - 6.30am - Turn on computer, Make coffee, get a list together of everything I need to do in the day

As I get older and more forgetful, lists have become more important to me than in the past.
Yep, gotta daily routine also but it is depending on if there are fires I have to put out or not, which day of the week it is and what I want to accomplish for the day.
Other than that, no daily routine that's the same for everyday aside from getting my butt out of bed.

Nick,
What good could possibly come from starting work at 6:30 in the morning? Especially when I would think that at least half of the customer base would be an hour or two behind you! (spoken like the night owl I am!)

1. I enjoy the quiet. I get much more work done.
2. That still leaves the other half of the customer base that are few hours ahead of us.
3. I get off at 3:00pm
