    Default IDX Feed Error

    Hello:

It was brought to my attention that the Rental search does not work. Here is the result if you search for rental properties:

Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_array() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/buyhawkeye.com/httpdocs/idx/inc/php/classes/MySQLImproved.class.php on line 96

Fixed. Looks like at some point the field "Monthly Rent" was removed - but the settings file was still looking for it, thus breaking the rental search.

    Thank you,

Thanks for the quick fix. Why would FMLS take out the rental amount option? That makes no sense.

Good Question. I checked my emails and I found on:

    August 6, 2009 they said: Field Clean-up

Remove the following fields from RNT: AGENTFAX, AGENTLISTRENT, COMPVARIABLE, DEEDBOOK, DEEDPAGE, and LISTDATE, MONTHLYRENT, OFFICESELL

    I didn't ask any questions.

Maybe they just put it into the "ListPrice" field .... is that the rent that's showing for the price when you search rentals?

Nope. That field is the same for home prices (unless you are looking to pay several hundreds of thousands of dollars a month for rent). Is there any recourse for this? I am not overly attached to the rental search feature, but this change has now made it useless.

Not sure - it's something we'll need to check with FMLS about.

Okay.. so here is the response I got..

There are three price fields for the Rental property type; ListPriceOrig, ListPrice and RentPrice.

    * ListPriceOrig = the price the property was originally listed in the system
    * ListPrice = the current listed price
    *
RentPrice = the price at which the Rental actually rented (this field does not appear in the BR/IDX content compilation)

Please let us know if you have any remaining questions.

So, I guess I am left wondering why they wont permit my customers to search for rental properties according to rent price on my website? That is what is important to renters, after all. Turns out you can do that search on realtor . com. Doesn't seem fair...

What's next? Do I need to petition for a rule change with FMLS?

    Hi David,

Yeah. That would be a question you would need to ask of your MLS board.
