i think, what happened, was at the same time i was shuffling through every thing, and doing a major development / tidy up / seo optimize i deleted a irrelevant folder which was actually a sub site, which was originally the site which most of my search results were under. So maybe with it all happening at once, could have been during a crawl, and a site map re check or some thing, which im sure wouldnt do too much good for rankings

I have noticed that most of the " Site Maps Indexing" is related to the category and keyword you enter. Also, a keyword "domain name" has a higher chance of appearing there within days.

how strange, maybe its some thing to do with google search engine pages cache, but google web masters is slowly updating and indexing pages, and finally some search result queries showed up on the google web masters page, but the search engine results they say i show up under i dont? could this be a caching thing e.g. just part of a organising process they do ? any one else keeping an eye on their sites notice this ?

Ok im back on the search engines again, with the results that should be, any one have any clue why during the indexing process you can expect to be ON and OFF the search engines constantly ?? e.g. 1 day my search is there, next drops off the face of the earth

SE's have different algorithm on crawling websites, it can be the keyword relevance, contents, internal and external links, build more links for your website and make each of your page relevant to your target keyword.

It appears, after talking to a few associates, that google indexes sites, with a "Google dance" approach, selecting 50 random top ranked sites, and going through all links, selecting 50 slightly lower ranked sites, 50, 50 and so on, till it searches the whole web. What a Crazy crazy way to index sites. So obviously, you have to have links to be in the game.

Google webmasters are definately accurate for sites that have been surely indexed by google
Google site:xxxx is accurate for pages that have been submitted / qued and some times not always indexed
