Does editing a blog affect serps?

I have a blog posting that for some reason is ranking pretty high in google in different areas.

If I edit or add to the original blog posting to increase lead conversion will it have any negative effect on the ranking.

I wouldn't change much, just add a few things

if you just add some few things such as content and images, it wont affect its serp but if you change its title, url or delete some content (keywords), i think that would affect its ranking

This doesn't affect the page ranking. Good blog content is the key to rank pages as well as the keywords of it. Editing it a little for the better is your choice.

Editing can effect the placement in the search engines, So make changes with caution. I would recommend only adding content to it, obviously you have got something right in the current content, and as said above - don't change the title!

I like to go back to older posts and give an update. I think that helps more posts remained indexed for longer.

Don't edit the permalinks unless you have a plugin that will keep it associated by redirecting the old search results url to the new permalink. Best would be not to tamper with it at all, but many times the seo friendly permalink is based on the original title.

My advice is to think long and hard about your title before publishing and never change afterwards, anything else in the post is fair game to play with at will.
