Apartment and Landlord Associations

Hello all,

I am a property investor living in NZ and need to understand the US property market. I was wondering if I could ask you all a question regarding "Apartment and Landlord Associations"?

In New Zealand we have Property Investor Associations - for example http://auckland.nzpif.org.nz/afawcs0111576/home.html

Looking at a US based property investor web site I see that US has the same but its called "Apartment and Landlord Associations" ? is that right?

Do you call property investor associations "Apartment and Landord" or is Apartment related to body corporate (management body that looks after the running of an apartment complex).

I still don't understand the Apartment Association and where it fits in. Are they the official government recognised bodies for the property investment sector?
