I have seen fluctuations in not competitive keywords as well recently. I have some experimental site with a keyword that has no other competition and from the 30+ sites that were ranked at first, only 6-9 were ranked for a few days. It is slowly coming back to normal. I think MSN is very inconsistant in its rankings. Yahoo is sometimes the same way. Google has periodic big shifts, but is probably more consistant than the other two.
