I will have to go with A. I'm not a big fan of very big pictures, so A design has a nice balance photo sizes and text.
"A" all the way. Hey, I might trademark it.
BTW, can be a nice design for a LEC 6... hint, hint.

I'm going with B! I have all 3 versions open in different browser tabs right now, so it is easy to go back and forth to compare. B is very straight forward, simple, clean with nice white space, making it the least visually cluttered of the 3. The wide photo sets a nice "mood" too, ("Gee, wouldn't it be nice to live there to see that skyline each evening"). The Condo Search superimposed on the wide horizontal photo actually helps to make it stand out and bring it to the attention of the visitor right away... much more so than in A or C.
A is a victim of TMI - just too much information all at once - 4 horizontal menus (bookmark us, etc., the main navigation, Begin Condo Search, and then the search criteria) before I even get to the heart of the Home page. And I really don't care for the horizontal Condo Search in A (gets lost in the header) or in C (superimposed at the top of the photo like some low ceiling) at all.
Having read all of the comments here so far, now you know why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. ;-) Good luck!

"Custom web site design that gets results since 1996!"
In order for me personally:I chose "A" because in my opinion, the instantaneous response that I look for myself when looking at a real estate website (provided it is a real estate website where the focus is a home search) is based around one question; where is the search?
- A
- C
- B
So for me, form follows function (in most cases with REW designs, the form is superior anyway as it is with all 3 of these designs). tThat is why I choose A.
To expand a little, the layout of the main purpose of the website provides for me the most useability with the least amount of effort to look for it. I expect to see a search in an uncomplicated way (think Google homepage vs Yahoo! or Bing). Site "A" gets me there and that makes me want to look at other things. Only once I have found what my intention was will I continue and in that sense, this design performs well for me too.
It's sort of "LEC4-esque"

B is my choice. Big photo draws you in, search is immediately in your face on the right, just below is the full listing view.
C seems like a banner on a photo and I think alot of us visually ignore them. The full data is at the bottom of the page, which is not where i think you want it.
A seems too busy to me.
Just my half cent opinion.![]()
Santa Cruz Beach Homes || Capitola Real Estate | Aptos Beach Homes Santa Cruz is a vibrant community, located on the north end of Monterey Bay, and is home to artisans, beach goers, hi tech types, and college students. There is plenty of natural beauty from the ocean side coastal towns to the little mountain communities. Let my 30 years of local knowledge and 20 years of real estate help you find the right home or property in Santa Cruz.
I think B has the best layout. A looks visually appealing, but is so homogenous that no particular graphic or text stands out from the rest. The result is my eye continually jumps around from one item on the screen to the next without being drawn to any one item in particular and doesn't give me anything to really focus on.
C is a better layout than A for me. I like the strong condo photo, which gives me a "home" spot to focus on while I explore the rest of the page. I don't like the horizontal search function at the top, however. It seems to blend in too well with the rest of the page. I see the individual boxes, but I don't immediately tie them together as "Search".
B has a great photo that draws me in to the website and gives me a home base. Search is clearly displayed to the right. OK, now I understand the website layout. If I want more, I can scroll down, knowing that I can always easily find my way back to the most important item--search. The whole web page makes me feel comfortable and allows me to focus on content.
Hope this helps.

I would go with 2b. I like the clean featured display with the search bar. The others can get a little crowded.
