Why would you want all those MLS's? Don't you just specialize in one area? I know 2 of those provide free public access, but the others require you to be a board member. There is one company that I think covers all of them, but it costs $500 to $700 a year I think. If you're really interested in all... I'll look back and see if I can find them again, they've changed their name a few times.

Well I"m a broker so I want to eventually hire buyer specialists to work leads in other markets. The trick is making it look like I'm a local real estate company in each market. I've been talking to MOrgan about getting it to appear that way because I think its essential so I don't stretch myself thin. You know what I mean?

Making your area so wide is also going to make it hard on yourself to Search Engine Optimize. Geo targeting your keywords makes it a lot easier to score better in the search engines. Most people looking for real estate are going to be specific in the area they want to look, so it may be better for yourself to make geo specific websites, each having their own geo specific MLS. This way you don't have to worry about making the MLS's look similiar either.

    bump..

Anybody know of the top IDX solutions for these markets?

I arranged them in order of importance

    1. Orange County
    2. Riverside/San Bernardino County
    3. Los Angeles County
    4. San Diego County

I'm looking for the best bang for the buck. Something that offers a "schedule a showing" type feature and email autoresponder with follow up is also necessary but I could do that separately I suppose.

I wish there was a way to compare all idx solutions with user comments.

Have you tried asking the MLS's for suggestions?

That's a surprise to hear. I know people at both SoCal and RE Infolink, and they are all real sharp people. Of course, I only know the heads of the tech departments. I don't know the business people.

Currently, the only MLS in Cali. that I deal with is RE Infolink. I have worked with Orange Coast, Desert Area, SoCal, and several others in the past. In fact, my company installed the networks for many of the MLS in that part of the country many years ago.

Call the Tempo help line. They should have an idea.

Just so everyone knows, the realestateabc.com directory is stricter than most. If you join there and list yourself in widely diverse areas, especially since we're from Southern California, too -- we will definitely edit it.

The RealEstate ABC directory is focused on the LOCAL individual real estate agent specializing in residential owner-occupied real estate. It isn't a directory for everyone, and doesn't pretend to be.

Brokerages, companies, agents working on building referral business in far-flung areas -- none of that interests us. We wish everyone the best of luck, but our site is targeted on the individual sales professional and their client.
