If you where #1 you should have left it alone. Your HP is fine to target one good term, maybe two. The key is to get internal pages to rank in Msn for the secondary terms like homes, mls, relocation... All it takes in on page SEO and a ok link structure in your site. Title, header tags, keyword in bold once or twice, and some unique content and you have a good chance or ranking in msn with internal pages fro those lesser terms.

It is important to remember that you also want to make your title attractive wherever possible to entice clickthrough. A higher clickthrough rate + good position = more traffic.

You don't need an update to see results. If you change something like your title tag on your HP all you will need is for your HP to get cached again by G. Your results can happen within days.
