    Default Introduction, links, articles, etc.

Hi, I just joined this forum today. I'll be visiting quite often. I run Real Estate and How. It's been running since last February, though I've been publishing other sites for over 7 years now under my business name Clear Digital Media. I publish RE articles and news that would be of interest to consumers, like home buying, selling, mortgages, investing, etc.

I'm constantly looking for new content. I'm calling on all RE webmasters to send articles about real estate. I review all submissions for quality and usefulness to the consumer. In exchange you will get:

    * a byline, which includes your name ( or your client's name) and their info about their background. This also includes a link to their site.

    * a short promo contained within the article (with link). For example "...more information about escrows is available at realtyexplained.com." But you have to write this into the article yourself, subject to editorial oversight by me.

    * a short text advertisement located on the same page of the article. Let me know what anchor text you want.

To see an example of the above, take a look at this article.

I'm also happy to exchange links with other RE sites. Visit our links page for info. I just reorganized the structure of the links pages, so only the main page has PR at this point.

Stelis, welcome to the gang. Don't let Ewok scare you, he didn't read the part in the Rogaine directions that said not to use it anywhere but on your scalp.

hmmmm a spamalamadingdong VS introduction debate WEEEEEEEEEE

Welcome to the forum Stelis, I see Ewoks point but the self promotion will be overlooked assuming your post count goes higher then one Sometimes members get overprotective about new posters because they see a lot of spam at this and other forums so dont take offence, Ewok is just looking out for the quality of the forum

Nice to have you, btw if you really want decent backlinks then why not submit articles here! We have tons of room for real estate articles in our Real Estate Article Section

I was totally joking...I guess that did not come through in the post. FYI, never take anything I say seriously...not that anyone does anyway. I like bushy eyebrows, really I do.

Hey, I thought this site was for webmasters!!

Ok, to satisfy Ewok's desire for more introduction, like I said I've been building and operating websites for 7 years now. I have sites in a variety of niches and genres. I do this thing full time, having built enough of a revenue stream to quit my "regular job" last year.

I would love to learn more about the world of RE Internet marketing. The site I have started is more of a way to get my foot in the door, and learn more about this niche, before I get ensconced with bigger ideas.

Real Estate seems to be very lucative. But a couple particular observations of mine:

    * it's hard to get any viral marketing done in this niche, because it seems to be so dominated by consumers and professionals. In other niches, those particularly dominated by hobbyists, they will promote you through links on their sites and message boards, thus building up backlinks and PR. All you have to do is build a website that hobbyists find useful, and they will do all the marketing work for you. Not the case in Real Estate.

    * there are so few brand loyalties in real estate. In other niches, consumers develop loyalties and trust with certain brands (PetsMart, Nike, Harley Davidson, etc.), that it's actually harder to market something to them. Whereas in real estate, it seems easier to market something to consumers, since they are not necessarily loyal to any specific mortgage company or real estate broker.

Realtors work HARD to maintain customer loyalty. It's pretty strong with the successful agent.

Hey, welcome back. That did not take too long.

You will find quite a mix of people here. There are webmasters, web developers, real estate agents and brokers and every once in a while you will even find a real estate consumer (for lack of a better term).

I think you hit the nail on the head. The real estate world is much more competitive and has always been. I remember when apartment brokers in San Diego would not even think about using the MLS, and most still do not. Many would not share listings with each other unless they had some kind of relationship or had done a deal together. There is a lot more money at stake in real estate and thus, I think you will find that if people feel threatened by you, they will not cooperate with you.
