Thread: Travel to and from the REW Summit

  1. Default Travel to and from the REW Summit

I'm planning on attending the summit in Sept, and was wondering how much time I should allow for travel between the Vancouver airport and Nanaimo (both ways)? What's the best way to get between the two? Direct flight? Seaplane?

Both Seaplane and direct flight are far preferred to the ferry (which is a long cab ride, and 2 hours of ferry to get here) - the sea plane is 5 mins by taxi from the airport (you need at least an hour before that to clear customers etc) or if you want to forego that part the flight directly to nanaimo from Van Airport (typically more costly) is nice as an option as well.

We look forward to receiving you John.

    Hi John,

Great to hear you are attending the summit this year. The seaplane from Vancouver Airport to Nanaimo is about 20 minutes. It's a really great way to see some of the amazing scenery that BC has to offer. If you decide on this option, book with either Harbour Air Seaplanes or West Coast Air. Both companies land at the downtown Nanaimo Harbour which is about a block from the Conference Centre, Coast Bastion Inn and Dorchester Hotel.

Look forward to seeing you in September!
