Just wondering if I needed a passport to enter Nanaimo from Seattle?
Hi Robert
Yep, you'll be traveling from the USA into Canada - you'll need a passport at your port of entry into Canada.
Enjoy the trip!
I'm not sure if the US has the same thing.. but in Canada, if you're going to the US and NOT flying, you can use the new "enhanced driver's license". Check with your local motor vehicle branch to see if that is available to you (if you're not planning on flying out of the country anytime soon anyways).

better safe than sorry - make sure you have a passport![]()
Starting LEC 7 soon but it won't be called LEC 7 - LEC 2012 coming soon!
When I was there two years ago we didn't need passports since we flew into Seattle and took the ferry the rest of the way. But I was told that even doing that now a passport is needed. I've never heard of an "enhanced driver's license." Went to France last year so had to get my first passport so now I'm set.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.
The problem is not going from Seattle to Nanaimo, it's the return trip. You will need a passport to get back into the US.
