Default Is there a need for a text link broker?

I received an email from a text link broker and this is what it says:

    Dear Vinnie,

My name is Oliver Tani, and as your Text Link Brokers account manager, I have taken the time to familiarize myself with your website so that I may be able to provide you with the best overall suggestions possible. What it takes to do well in the search engines these days is for the most part, three-fold:

    1. Every website that hopes to rank well needs unique, high quality content.

From what I've seen of your website, it looks good. You seem to be following the proper guidelines as well as doing what you need to do to make sure your site is optimized to the fullest. I would say that you're on the right track with your content and on page development.

    2. Every website also needs a good number of relevant backlinks, from as many different sites as possible.

We offer a permanent one-way link building program where we would build high quality links to your site every month, all in relevant pages within completely separate sites. The PageRank of these links vary between PR0 – PR4 initially, but we guarantee that they will all be PR2 or higher within 2 Google updates. Each one of these links incur a one-time fee of only $35/each. I would recommend a monthly campaign of at least 5 links per month with us for at least 3 months focusing mostly on your main keywords such as "phoenix real estate" or "keller williams realty". We need to build your Allinanchor rankings, as well as the number of unique Google backlinks that you have pointing to your site (as shown in attached Site Evaluation). Your 5 Permanent Links per month would be priced at only $175 /month.

    3. The third thing that every site needs is high PageRank, authoritative backlinks.

Is there anyone on this forum with thoughts on this?

Those prices are pretty high. Buying links can be risky, but if you do buy links, you can find people willing to sell for much cheaper. Check out this forum out for more competive pricing for purchasing links, http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=58
You may not get the results you think by buying links. It can be depremental if you pick the wrong site.

    Thanks Kyle,
I'm at the point where I'm tired of paying for things that just don't work. I've let one too many lead generating companies sell me on their great programs that get no results. If it's possible to optimize my website without the expense of a SEO company, then that's way I want to go, at least for at first.

I've purchased two links on sites. I don't think it has helped me a lot. You should just study on page SEO and off page SEO in this forum, http://seo-guy.com/tutorial.html , and http://forums.digitalpoint.com/ and read this tutorial from Morgan,

Of course you can optimize your website without the expense of a SEO company. This is a great place to find a lot of information about optimizing your website. It is also a great place to find reciprocal link exchange partners, and reciprocal links with other real estate websites are free and they also are, conveniently, completely relevant.

As Kyle pointed out sometimes paid links aren't always as effective as they are advertised to be and you can also pay to have a site link to you that might actually have a detrimental effect.

I would recommend starting a reciprocal link exchange program and seeing how that works out for you. If you don't have the time for this, as it can be time intensive, you can hire a company to do this for you. There are many companies out there that do this. Before hiring anyone just make sure that you check out other sites that they work for and see how they are doing, see what kind of reputation the company has by asking around forums such as this one and if your still unsure you can also always contact the clients of the companies and see what there opinion is. Just keep in mind that the clients of these companies are usually very busy and try to not take up too much of there time.

There is even a Link Exchange Forum on this site for members to arrange exchanging links with each other.

    Cheers
    Jason

    Thanks Jason,
It sounds like a lot of good advice. I do have time to create my own link exchange, in fact I already put all the link pages together. I was waiting until they get cached before starting a link exchange thread. From what I've been reading, most people are reluctant to exchange links when pages have a PR0.
I'm actually starting to understand this stuff after all the help from this forum.

    Best regards,
    Vinnie

Sounds like you're coming along nicely. People may be reluctant to trade links with sites that have PR0, but PR cannot be a requirement of link exchanges on this forum, fyi. We all have to start somewhere
285 Columbus Lofts - New 63-unit Boston loft development in the former Red Cross building
FP3 Boston Condos - FP3 Fort Point Channel Boston Seaport Condos
Boston Real Estate - Providing Google Map based search of condo developments

I don't require that the pages be cached, just that they are cacheable. In other words, i look at the site, i look at all the coding on the site, i check for a robots.txt file and i look to see how new the pages are. If the rest of the site is cached and the links pages just look new and they look like they will be cached than we will exchange links.

And I'll tell you what, if you change your main links page so that the links to your state pages are text links and not image links. I suggest doing this by not making the image the link and putting a text link below the image, you can e-mail me at jason@realestatewebmasters.com and I will exchange links with your site with my clients' websites.

    Thanks againn,
I didn't know making the text the link will make a difference. As soon as I get that done I'll email you.

Okay, as soon as I change my image links to text links, I'll begin exchanging.
