Default To (Google) sitemap or not to sitemap, that is the question

    FYI

What's the best way to get indexed and listed on Google? We started an experiment - five sites, each set up with similar content but connected differently to Google. Take a guess - which sites were indexed first?

    Okay, I'm game:

Which site made it first to the index? Site C: Same as Site B but without Google Sitemaps (just Adsense + remote user with Google-Bar)

In which time frame? No more than a day or 2.

Did all sites get indexed? Yes

Which factors were most important? Adsense - Google wants its ads to be clicked on, hence they index pages with Adsense ASAP.

Which factors the least? a remote user with a Google-Bar (ok, not a real user, but rather a remote-controlled IE-user, clicking on a schedule - 6 times daily to random URLs within the site)

Did all factors work towards getting the sites indexed? Yes.

can we try to keep discussion of topics on the forum please, referencing outside sources instead of answering questions on the forum really does not make for good discussion. There are lots of reasons to link to outside sources, to answer a simple question is not one of them. If you would like to generate links to your websites all you need to do is have them in your signature and "participate" in the discussions.

    what's the answer?

If you would like to generate links to your websites

IF you are referring to me, that's never been, nor never will be my purpose.

As an educator, my purpose is .... to educate, and showing a link to an article many times serves that purpose.

Therefore, in the future, should I decide to make reference to an article, from a source I respect, I will quote a portion of that article's text, with a companion citation, of course.

Are we going to get an answer or are you just trying to drive traffic to articles?!?
If you are looking for San Diego Real Estate or you want to view San Diego MLS listings (or at least that portion of the data feed that SANDICOR allows us to display on our websites) go to a local San Diego County real estate Agent's Site.

    P.S. We Love Referrals!
