    Default Being penalized in Yahoo

Has anyone been penalized in Yahoo before? My Sarasota real estate site and Longboat Key waterfront site are in violation somehow. I have one numerous things to solve the problem. The problem is that Yahoo does not give specific reason as to why you are being penalized. They have a list of 14 violations.

Any advice on how to get unpenalized?

I already know abou this link: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/ysearc...etions-05.html

I still believe the issue is with this rule

"Pages dedicated to directing the user to another page"

Because you are using an offsite IDX solution that will not allow you to iframe in it's content (Or rather doesnt work if you do, because they claim there are security issues) I see the idx solution itself ranking for "the sarasota mls" but your site does not. I think yahoo looks at your site as dedicated to driving traffic to the idx solution (Duh of course it does!)

This should be fixed when we get you a custom IDX on there, but totally open to other suggestions as I am at my wits end trying to figure this one out and writing yahoo just to get form letters back.

I changed my IDX to the one that can be iframed http://www.thesarasotamls.com/mls.php

I resubmitted my request for a re-review after I changed this. There evidently is something else wrong.

When you said you requested a re review do you mean by yahoo. If so how did you do this. Might site has languished in yahoo and I think I have been penalized. When I search for escapesomewhere austin I show up 19th after alot of sites that link to my site.

Not that I can see, no. Type in "Falconliving" into yahoo, you will see what should come up, your site as #1 type in "thesarasotamls" into yahoo and marc's site wont even be listed.

    Marc,

Do you think the fact that your Sarasota site doesn't have any keyword or description tags has something to do with it?

Not sure that Yahoo would penalize you for it, but I think it would definitely affect your rankings. I thought Yahoo relied heavily on meta tags?

I have been told and read on different forums that the major search engines don't use meta tags that much anymore. Who knows for sure othen than the search engine guys.

Lack of keyword or descriptions tags is not on the list of Yahoo's no no's.
