    Default The Yahoo SERPs Breakthrough

I’m seeking advice and counsel on reasons, and perhaps remedies/recommendations, why I have not made the breakthrough into the Yahoo SERPs. My site has been around for about 4 months now, I have a strong linking campaign, and I just cannot seem to get into the Yahoo SERPs (I won’t even begin to talk about Google).

I'm number one for a variety of my keyword searches in MSN, but I'm learning from unique vistor counts per day that this really isn't helping me all that much. Through various forums, I’m reading that there is not a Yahoo sandbox…so I’m going down the road of trying to figure out what am I doing, or not doing, to prevent my Boulder Colorado Real Estate website from making it into one of the bigger search engines.

I appreciate any guidance that you can provide.

Im in the same position. I started getting traffic from msn. Now I am getting decent traffic from msn and google. But I am getting nothing from yahoo at all. I wonder if yahoo penalizes for not buying a directory listing.

I am in the same boat with Bradenton Real Estate and Venice, Florida Real Estate. They both were started around June. Yahoo did not used to be this difficult to get into. I think they might have a sandbox like Google. It will eventually happen if you have a good site and links pointing to you.

If you are wonding if a directory link will help why not just spend the money and find out. It won't hurt you thats for sure.

Last year, I waited and waited for inclusion in Yahoo. Finally, after months, I paid for inclusion in their directory, in a few weeks we were listed in serps.

Don't know if the yearly fee was the difference or not, but they certainly make you wary of not paying the directory fee at remewal time.

I'm in on another thread in a different forum...waiting to hear back from someone who had the same issues...maybe...and used the paid inclusion to get listed. Could be a ploy by yahoo to squeeze a few bucks out of the market.

I'll post an update once the person clarifies their sitution before the PFI...it's kind of vague...but they did mention going from nowhere to the #3 spot in three days after forking over the money.

Have been hearing more and more stories like this. Also many are starting to talk about a yahoo sandbox. While waiting if they pay the fee they get into the results within a very short time after being accepted to the directory, normally a day or two.

Not a bad plan by yahoo considering anyone launching a new site has a very slim chance of getting any traffic from google...and msn just doesn't bring in nearly the amount of visitors that G andf Y do.

The paid inclusion is dissapointing...the se's have so many PPC types ads running on their SERPs now, it's hard to find the orgnaic results.

Has anyone done anything, aside from the $299 fee, to boost themselves in Yahoo SERPs, something perhaps that I am not doing?

I'm seeing a lot of sites in my area that have lots of one way links and small or no link pages. In some cases the link pages are framed or behind javascript.

Is it possible yahoo is devaluing recip links?
