provides a MLS broker reciprocity search that can be indexed by search engines? In other words, if there are 10,000 homes in my MLS, I'd have 10,000 pages of content with new content being added daily.

And anyone else using it would also have those same 10,000 pages with the only difference being your web site information & contact info. Sounds like a lot of duplicate content, IMO.
In fact, with my one host we shared listings & we believe we were all penalized for this dupe content. Our host finally stopped the robots from crawling these pages except for the agent that originally listed the property.
So my hundreds of pages that were being shown in the past have now been reduced dramatically. Seems like Yahoo dumped me because of the dupe pages but I'm still #1 in Google. I have a feeling I won't stay there long after losing all of these pages, but maybe if they penalized me for the dupe content I wouldn't have lasted long anyway. Time will tell.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.
Ooooh. Good point. Never thought of that. Thanks for the info.
Sometimes your state's assoc. of realtors (in your situation, Georgia Association of Realtors) will supply an IDX datafeed to a broker. Then you need to hire a programmer (I used Vlado from this forum, look in memberlist) to set it up for you. I've PM'd you so you can see the result.
I have done this on serveral sites. IMO duplicate content is not a problem as long as the duplicate content is not on the same site or in the same class C IP. We can even give the pages unique titles and descriptions. If you are interested in more information or would like to see the sites send me a PM.Originally Posted by Bulldog San

I believed I evaluated some of those sites. The duplicate content I found was from many expired listings redirected to the same page on the same site. IMO this is what caused the drop in the SERPs. A good place to look is to examine the pages indexed as supplemental results, it you find different urls redirected to one page then you may (IMO) have a dup content problem.Originally Posted by judyo

Morgan,
Can you guys do that for www.realestate-bradenton.com since you are getting the data feed?
Marc Rasmussen is selling luxury Sarasota real estate. Updated daily with all Sarasota Florida real estate.
Yeah, What I will do Marc, is rewrite the urls for the featured boxes on the home page and the communities pages, so they would be something like featured-bradenton-mlsnumber.php
thanks Aaron, although as per the users post a mod_rewrite is not necessary, the SE's can index the content even with some query stings, what makes the difference is having the custom idx on your site as opposed to iframing it in, mod_rewrite never hurts though![]()
