Default Where Would You Live and Why

I have been to New Jersey in the summer and I absolutely love their beaches. Living in beach houses along the coastline is a like living a dream. On the other hand, I have also been to the country, Oklahoma to be exact, away from the coastline. The closest thing they have to an ocean are lakes. However the peace and tranquility and the lush greenery is simply magical. I guess each has its advantages so my question is where would you prefer to live and why? Why would you prefer one over the other?

I would live exactly where I live now, on Vancouver Island. We have the ocean right on our doorstep, as well as mountains, lakes, and rivers. The weather is very mild, so there's no harsh winter and it doesn't get stinking hot in the summer. The only thing I'd change is maybe a bit less rain.. but that's what you get for living in a rain forest.

Every place has its pluses and minuses, but in the end, I live in Seattle and love it here. Great food, coffee and easy access to excellent places that you can fish, hike, ski, golf and sail. We're rated the worst city for sports fans, but I love baseball and football and wouldn't ever root for another team against my Mariners or Seahawks. It would be nice to have a real winter, and more days where the sky is blue, but the surplus of grey skies makes me appreciate the sunny days and winter snow storms that much more.

I truly believe that if you don't love the city you live in, move. Life is too short, and I doubt the roots, for most people, are as entrenched as they are in their mind's eye.

But New York would be pretty cool too

    Good question, James
I think I'm pretty much stuck on the west coast. I'm a total wuss when it comes to temperature extremes, and I love being near the ocean. I think I'd be happy in any city between Vancouver and California.
If I could handle winter weather though, I'd try New York State. There are some gorgeous little communities there within driving distance of the city.

I actually like living in the Greater Philadelphia area because everything I need and like is at hand. To the north I have NJ beaches and New York city, to the south I have Atlantic city and other NJ beach destinations. Also Philadelphia is a great place to let loose and find a restaurant with amazing food. The only other place I've ever considered moving to is San-Diego, I was there once a few years back and really liked it.

I love Utah, but the winters can be harsh at times. The summers are very calm here and the mountains are breathtaking, plus I love to play in the outdoors. If I were to live somewhere else it would have to be a great food place. I love to cook and great food is my passion. Maybe Italy or somewhere I could get fresh seafood all year long.

It would have to be in Washington, Oregon or California because I love living along the Pacific. Since it's nearly April 15th and I have taxes on the mind I have to say Vancouver, WA, looks appealing... you can live in Washington state and pay no state income tax, then just drive across the bridge to shop in Oregon and pay no sales tax. Nice little loophole there.

If money were no object though it would be San Francisco, hands down.

I love NYC. I lived there for 3 months in 2004 and went back for St Patricks day last year.

I currently live on the French Riviera, which is also quite nice

Southern France because it beautiful warm and European, Buenos Aires because it's historic, a mixture of cultures and still has style and a sense of mystery: and Krakow Poland because I already have a flat there, I love the historic city, the vibe and it's in Poland my home country and I'm going to do it as soon as my REW website grows bigger and bigger and bigger and blows up with leads which I'll distribute to other agents while I'm anywhere in the world I want to be.

I would definitely love to live in Costa Rica. It is considered one of the most ecologically sound countries in the world and a "blue zone" central. It is a term given to a country with a large percentage of healthy citizens because of their lifestyle.
