I've lived in Southern California for over 20 years.... Yes, the weather is great, the ocean is beautiful.... And living by the beach is fun. But I think I'm ready for a change. I'm considering East Coast (DC, Alexandria area) early next year. Love the architecture, the feel of the old neighborhoods, lush trees and friendly people.

Chicago ... the architecture is beautiful, it is culturally diverse, so many things to do (like New York, but cleaner , it is on a big lake (and I love sailing), it has a major airport with direct flights anywhere in the world and real estate is not bad business either .
I am in St Louis now ... 5 hours away, but I have my aspirations set there.

I wrote my answer before, but after another week long trip through central California I would like to live in the Montecito are near Santa Barbara at least for a while because of the winding roads, the small town feel, the lush flora, beautiful homes, the ocean and the hills.

Canada is nice, but if I have to choose something different, I would go for some traditional European country - Switzerland, Sweden, Austria - calm and safe life.

Of coarse Alabama on Logan Martin Lake, but when I get older I would say some were on the coast. My skin is so dry and the coast (sea water) really does wonders for me.

I would probably stay in Austin Texas. I have been in some other places I like but it would not outweigh the pain of moving and figuring out the processes of a new city. That said I liked Portland and Eugene in Oregon when I visited.

Here in Tampa FL, but thats because I moved here from Ohio. I would like to do a year in Manhattan some time once the kids are out of the house.

Sarasota and I don't know where to start...a drive over the John Ringling Bridge about 15 years ago set it into motion for me. I only thought clear blue water existed in post cards or some deserted Polynesian island....hang out on Siesta Key beach and that pretty much will put it over the top. Or maybe it was the boat trip out in the bay...I should have framed my ice scraper and hung it on the wall )
