To tell the truth, Canada confuses me. On the one hand, housing market survived the crisis almost without a scratch, on the other hand, some people say 'it's coming!", especially if we saw sudden slump on commodity markets...
The Commodity markets will not impact the housing market of the entire nation. I could impact a small mining town, but that is about it.
Right now the biggest factor in play is the election, if the unthinkable happens we could be in for a wild ride and that would include the real estate housing market.
Ok - now it's after election. I think the result was not unthinkable...but at least surprising indeed!

It is now January 2012 and our real estate market in Canada has been on an unprecedented 10-12 upward ride. Things do not go up and up for forever. I do not know when it will come crashing down but I do know it will end and be sudden and swift.
