I agree, my sites usually rank quicker and better on Yahoo. Google is a beast and takes awhile but is definitley worth the wait when the traffic rolls in.

Nothing really different, I just think Yahoo ranks quicker and they still might use meta keywords. Not sure....

Apparently they do - or at least they did. The following article is from 2009:

but since then Yahoo search is powered by Bing, who don't use it (except apparently to identify spammers):

But whichever way you look at it, it seems that even if it is used by some SE's it is a minor signal.

I use Yahoo for the articles on the main page which google does not have. I do rarely use it for searching, but sometimes it's nice to use to get some different search results.

I only had the meta tags on my homepage, I knew Google no longer used them but after reading your article I decided to disable them. Thanks

I still use Yahoo as my default home page. I then use the search bar to search from google. I like the different articles yahoo has daily.

You are very welcome. A keywords meta tag is built in to my website software, I haven't actually disabled it but have just put in a few one word relevant keywords. They can't do any harm and some obscure SE somewhere may pick up on them The point being that they are not my actual keywords, but as anyone can see anyone else's meta tags it may confuse my competition! Most of them very helpfully still display in their tag exactly what they are hoping to rank for.

I have Yoast Seo plugin for wordpress and the default settings have the meta tags disabled. I went back to the default settings after reading your post and will see how things go. I don't think it will make a huge impact, I wasn't keyword stuffing.
