And hey if you have a solution GREAT! However it doesnt appear so from preliminary research and investigation. We just want to make sure everyone is exchanging relevant links fairly and that the link off the index page to the directory actually donates Pr via propogation to the pages they are offering links to

Thumbs up Frames Can Be A Good Thing

<<offering to place Jim on a non spiderable page within a frameset. The example page you give is not such a page.>>

The example page I gave is actually such a page. Our clients have the choice to use their Favorite Links page or their PageManager pages. The example I gave is a PageManager page. I gave that example because Wendy has a text link off her homepage to that specific page *without* the frame giving it PR4.

The changes we made were in late February. About three weeks ago we just started seeing internal PR on the pages as well so it is slowly filtering over.

Every site is different though. Our clients have full control over their websites in regards to the pages they create, the links they put on, the webcrawler page, meta tags, etc. So every website may or may not have their interior ‘links’ pages cached with PR. In many cases I’ve found it really depends on the text link structure of the homepage to pass that PR along.

Taking my example of www.WendysHomes.com – Her homepage is a PR5

Her Area Links page has a text link on her homepage and the framed section is:
    http://www.wendyshomes.com/Nav.aspx/Page=/AreaLinks/Default.aspx/NF=1 – PR3

As it is an iFrame through asp.NET, you have the navigation bar on the left with the links page on the right and both combined make it a PR3, taking it down two notches.

Wendy also has a direct link on her homepage to a page she created on a community in her area. She did not link it through the frame, therefore this page is current a PR4:

    http://www.wendyshomes.com/PageManager/Default.aspx/PageID=171197&NF=1

The NF=1 is telling the page to NOT refresh over to the iFrame navigation bar.

Going back to your specific question regarding the frame set with the long alphanumeric query string…

    PhxRealEstate.com

    This link:

http://www.phxrealestate.com/Nav.aspx/Page=%2fPageManager%2fDefault.aspx%2fPageID%3d2155 66 – Is a PR3 because it has the two pages within the iFrame.

The link which has the Nav.aspx/Page= - This is telling the program to add the navigation bar to the side. The actual page on the right side is:

    http://www.phxrealestate.com/PageManager/Default.aspx/PageID=215566

That link above is the most important link which is where the reciprocal link would be counted from. This page is indexed in Google (which was our biggest problem that we solved four months ago):

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.phxrealestate.com%2FPageManag er%2FDefault.aspx%2FPageID%3D215566&btnG=Google+Se arch

That page has a PR5 currently. So it really works in both ways.

Giving an example of a site that HAS this link as a backlink:

    http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=link%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.flagstaff-real-estate.com&btnG=Search

I hope that helps! Let me know if I can explain anything else.

Thanks for your consideration amigos Coming originally from a traditional marketing and advertising backround I'm relatively new to the SEO game (2 years) and have learned lots here already. Hopefully I'll be able to give back some too

Just so you know... I'm working on the spiderable db for that site to lose the frames on the listing pages.
