    Default Free Reports

I'm thinking about offering Free Reports (via autoresponder )

Has anyone had much success with this?

Does anyone know you can purchase these types of reports?

Our Point2 templates offer free reports but I rarely get anyone to sign up for them. They do use & register for my MLS access (registration is required by my MLS). So they obviously know the Free Reports are a way for us to get their contact info & they don't realize that the MLS is, too.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

I wonder if this is generally the case. I don't want to clog up my site if the return isn't there.

    Jeff,

I'd go for reports on topics that only you know as an agent. Local market stats, neighborhood appreciation info, etc. I think the 9 things to watch out for has probably been overdone.

    I agree about the content.

What about the signing up to receive the reports? I'm thinking of using an autoresponder (follow-up) as the delivery method but there is no point if experience shows that nobody signs up for this type of thing.

I rarely see free reports work on sites, unless they are targeted and on a good site. One I came across this past week is http://sellersagent.com/. This is not a client, but one of my clients really liked the concept, so we will be incorporating some of these ideas. Worth exploring is you offer information on FSBO's, or anything niche. Let us know what you come up with.

Has anyone heard of Copyscape before? www.copyscape.com? It was fun to use this tool and wondering if anyone knows if this is reliable...

I think it would be worth giving it a try if the information is something unique that people would really want to review, and you promote it properly on the home page, etc.

Think about the things you sign up for online. Maybe SEO newsletters, real estate marketing tips?? You sign up because you perceive that the value you will receive is important enough to make it worth giving up your contact information.

Think about your target market and their needs. Of the information you provide to your clients, what do they find most valuable? What information might a buyer or seller want to know that they don't have easy access to? They can always go to useful sites like Realestateabc and get all the general buying and selling info they want.

It would take some creativity, but it just might be worth the effort.

PS - Cherie, lots of us use copyscape.com. It's a great resource.
