I agree they don't help mutch. I have a partner (just one site right now) and he was designing a page and put a small link on the page... very mutch hidden. He thought it would give us the extra kick in the SERPS... I told it we didn't need it. Right now or main KW is #6 in Google and the best part about it... no hidden links/text so the site shouldn't get banned.

It's not worth the risk.

My question is always this (to those who feel lucky):

If your site gets iced, what are you going to tell them in the reinclusion request? What will be your explanation why? You can say "I didn't know" ... yeah right.

I think Google works with you as long as they don't feel openly disrespected. You can screw up a little here and there and still get leadway. However, when you wilfully go against something that is so obviously going against their rules, then ... good luck in Yahoo! and msn
