Wow. First post in the new area. Sweet.
So, I'm looking to further my web site and am wondering if there's a good best-practices for RE blogging or if anyone has some good tips for how to best utilize a blog to get prospects.

The thing about blogs is they are generally in "recent news" type format so it is important to write your posts so that they compell your users to visit the converting parts of your site (Contact forms, IDX etc) One great way to use blogs is to showcase your new listings. Example "I just listed this great 2 bedroom, 2 bath rancher in the downtown area. Click here (Insert link) to view this new listing. If you would like to view all of my listings click here, or if you have questions or would like to schedule a showing call me at (Insert # here)
You should try to get a blog that you can install on your main domain as opposed to having a yourblog.blogspot.com subdomain, that way as you build athority and pagerank to your site, the blog content can rank for keywords as well.
Starting LEC 7 soon but it won't be called LEC 7 - LEC 2012 coming soon!
Thanks for the reminder, Morgan. I'm usually more focused in providing useful local or real estate information that I tend to forget about getting people back into my site. Check out my two most recent posts that reintroduce my site: Chicago Suburb Real Estate blog.
BTW, I've found so many templates I like I've been using a different one every month so I'll be changing my current template soon (never really liked it but the ice was for our cold Chicago winter).
Aaron, I know you didn't ask for a critique but you might want to introduce some photos or graphics into your blog to make it more readable & interesting. Yours is set up very differently than what I'm used to reading with two columns of "news", although that seems like a new feature you've recently started. Not sure if I personally like it.
I do like how it's built right into your site with the exact same theme/template. I just like to try on different templates & I try to change whatever I can to make it look as close to my site as possible. But there are so many pretty ones available they're like shoes to me!![]()

Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.
http://www.cook-county-real-estate.n...n-one-day.html That is a GREAT blog post! I think I might give it a few links in a tutorial![]()
