While I don't know if it will end the housing crisis (particularly in some of the more distraught areas of the country), I am happy to see that banks are starting to loosen up again. Saw a lot of good credit worthy persons w/ a decent down payment get turned down, and have to scramble at the last minute to try to keep their deal together.

I think it was Corelogic that said a week or two ago that prices are still falling. Seems like what I am reading is saying the next year or two. Since that is what they said 4 years ago (and every year to follow), these prognosticators basically don't know. There are so many things that can happen out side of real estate that can effect the economy too. I would say that if there is a real uptick in the jobs market, more folks will be able to get loans and pay for them. Without being too political, the outcome in November will have a lot to do with how business "feels" and that might reflect hiring. We'll see...

I don't buy that 2012 will be the end of it, but I am sure glad to be in Austin. We have not been hit badly like other areas and this should be a fairly good year for us and much of Texas.

Until one fundamental improves, all the words and infinite wisdom of pundits, talking heads, "analysts" and on and on.... In order for the real estate market to improve...A rise in income levels must improve. End the discussion there. It takes wages to afford housing, without that all else is mute or used to fill air time or newspaper copy.
