Pinterest is the Next best in Social Media

I posted about using Pinterest before, so this just proved my previous conversation on what Pinterest will become and do for businesses:

I think it will be great to put up for Listed house as a board.. then 'pin up' all the great features as highllights to the house.. it cane be linked to Facebook, twitter and all your other SM avenues...

True, it's just another sm account to manage but here are some more stats:

It seems everywhere you look somebody new is talking about Pinterest, and there is good reason why. Not only was Pinterest named one of the Top 50 Websites by Time Magazine, but in a recent study done by Shareaholic, Pinterest beat out well known social sharing sites, like YouTube, Google+, LinkedIn and MySpace for percentage of total referral traffic in January 2012.

In fact, in a study done by Experian, Pinterest now ranks as one of the top ten social networking sites on the web.

While of moderate interest...have to admit my first reaction is "another social media site to keep current....".

I'll probably take a wait and see on it. (Just because a site generates traffic, doesn't it means it generates money in your pocket. If I see persons that are spending time on it, that can attribute closed deals to it, I'll probably give it a go.)

Agree with Malok. It's hard enough to keep up the social media side...not to mention FB changes too. I've sort of been interested in seeing what Google+ does. I thought this might be the next up and coming thing but I haven't heard a lot of buzz lately. I will keep and eye on this

After reading some of the comments, siting back and waiting, or having keeping up with social media are no longer options for any company. Its a must do,and now situation. If it requires additional staff to do it, then you have to hire. If it requires more funding you need to change commission structures or charge administrative fees, but be warned while you wait someone else is doing and playing catch up is much harder than being in front.

Just a few numbers to throw out there: Pinterest is up to 21 million unique visitors who are on average 82% female. 64% of users are over the age of 35. This is a fantastic market and much less juvenile than many FB or Twitter users. I know it just seems like the latest fad that will quickly come and go, but mark my words, this is going to be a very big social media outlet that is very conducive to a home listing. I know it's a struggle to keep all of your social media accounts current, but keep in mind that this is FREE MARKETING. If you put in a little time every day, I guarantee it will pay off.
