    Default Work request - dev125

Hi, I am nearing 'go-live' for my new LEC6 (dev125). May I please get an estimate for the following work:

    1. Add Google +1 to top of site, next to Facebook and Twitter share icons.
    2. Expand the listing detail information. I'm hoping to populate all information that is available in the feed.
    3. In Property Details, can we design the photo viewer, so a larger photo file is displayed when the 'zoomed' photo image is clicked or 'View All Images' is clicked? Also...many of the current photos are grainy and of poor quality.
    4. IDX - change 'Get Local' to read 'Local Info'. When 'Get Local' is selected, please display 'Neighborhood Information as the default view instead of 'Nearby Amenities'.
    5. How often does the MLS data refresh? I may be interested in increasing the refresh frequency.
    6. Support issue: there are several pages that are formatted to display six properties, but only five are showing. Example: http://dev125.rewlec.com/st-george.php

Here is an example of a page displaying correctly: http://dev125.rewlec.com/dammeron-valley.php

That's it for now. Thank you!

    1. 1hr design

    2. It depends how many fields you want but it takes around 0.25 hrs to 1.5 hrs per idx field depending on the field's complexity. The programmer will be able to provide you with a list of all the IDX fields so you may choose which you want. So let's say we give the programming 5 hours time to add as many as they can and if you need more after that you can just approve the additional time it would take them.

    3. We have no control over your MLS's photos. In your case they are sourced directly from the MLS's flexmls system like so: http://photos.flexmls.com/stg/201112...5717000000.jpg

You can see the original photos are small and this makes scaling them up result in poorer quality photos since they pixelate as we zoom in.

    4. 0.5 hrs programming

    5. Once per day. Your feed is an FTP feed as such can only be updated once daily. Perhaps switching to RETS would allow

    6. The snippet's individual settings were set to 5 per page. I've changed it to 6 per page. http://dev125.rewlec.com/backend/idx...eorge-listings

There are settings you can change per snippet regarding results as well as the default settings.

    1. Let's hold off for now

    2. I'll approve 5 hours, but I don't suspect I'll need that many. There are only a couple of crucial fields...

    3. Might the RETS feed help the photo quality? It's seem like I had the same problem with my LEC2 sites, and the RETS helped. Not sure...

    4. Approved

    5. How do we find out if RETS will help?

    6. Thank you for making the snippet change.

One question - where do I send my request to go live?

    Thanks Anthony,

    Dave

To take your site live you have to fill out our site live form. http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/site-live/

For 3 & 5: The RETS feed could be a solution to the photo quality issue but the only sure way is to ask the board if they have higher quality photos then the one's you have now. If you had the RETS feed though you would be able to update your site data hourly.

Taking a quick look at the WCBR feed there is not many fields in there and your not missing that many. So I'll only put 3 hours for this on the work order. Here are the fields I see you may be missing:
    `rooms`
    `features`
    `garage_type`
    `garage_stall`
    `garage_remarks`
    `stories`
    `taxes`
    `assoc_dues_period`
    `assoc_dues`
    `intermediate`
    `other_comm`

I'll setup the work order and get this going for you.

    Thanks, Anthony.

I found out the RETS feed will offer higher quality photos (1280 x 1024 compared to 300 x 225 from the FTP feed). Will you please work on an estimate to change to the RETS feed?

Will the RETS feed change the property detail fields that are available to me? I'll wait to hear from you before I decide which to add.

    Thanks again,

    Dave

    Hi David,

After looking into this further, we already have access for the RETS feed and we'll just need to get Nick, our IDX coordinator, to verify all paperwork is in order. Then we need to do some programming work to get the RETS data feed setup to work with our newest framework (the one your using) and then finally switch your ftp feed with the new one. Total estimate for the entire RETS switch process is 7 hours programming. Let me know if you want to go ahead with this.

The RETS feed does have many raw data fields not available in the FTP feed. I'll email you an excel sheet with all the field names.

    Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the info. Yeah, let's go with the RETS feed. As far as billing, I think I have pre-paid hours. If not, let's use my SEO hours for this project. As far as choosing data fields, does each field result in programming time? In other words, some fields may not be as important if they're costing me to program.

    Thank you again,

    Dave

Yes each field above our standard fields that are already included would incur development time. Like I said earlier you would just buy some time to add as many as you need since it's hard to estimate without actually looking at the raw data.

I'll create a work order for the switch to RETS. The other work order was already sent for the detail page changes so I'll leave that and we will just do that one after the RETS switch.
