    Default Design trends

I have come across several predictions like this one from Web Design and Development Trends for 2006

Designs will soften, with more rounded corners, pastel colours and hinted boxes. Drop shadows and gradients will remain, but in a much subtler form to avoid visual clutter.
Personally I glad to see the trend away from boxed type sites to rounded corners. What do others think?
