google rating stars in serps

Anybody know how you get a bunch of stars to show up next to your site in the Google SERPS? To see this effect, google "san diego real estate" or "hawaii real estate" and you will see some sites (from the same IDX vendor) that have them.

The stars are tied to your reviews. Sign up on google places and then clients can't write reviews about your services.

If you're using Wordpress I think the "GD Star Rating" plug-in is what you're looking for.

Correction/clarification. The above poster is correct. If you are looking for reviews on your business (homepage) then register with google places. If you are wanting people to be able to rate your individual posts and have those star ratings show up in the SERPs, use GD Stars.

Isn't just a rich snippets markup similar to using the authorship markup with G+? Any chance you could get someone to do a writeup on this Morgan?
