I just got into the Yahoo SERP's so I cannot do a great comparison, MSN has provided a fair bit of traffic to me thus far. It seems that it is easier to get your site quickly into MSN, and far easier to really target a few keywords and build a campaign around ranking high for said keywords in MSN. Perhaps the lengthy delay that is involved with getting into Yahoo SERPs will prove to be valuable, but I have not seen anything just yet.

Better in what way? In terms of driving traffic to your site, perhaps this will help:

I dont think the nielsons net ratings are anywhere close to accurate - especially when you look at markets. One market (Shopping) make get a ton of traffic % wise from MSN whereas another market (Tech) gets virtually none.

From a real estate specific standpoint - REW gets 99% real estate traffic. Our referrals for the last 3 days are

    Google 1998
    Yahoo 94
    MSN 43

How is that for %'s! We rank equally well in all 3 engines.

Huh. As far as traffic, Google's hard to beat (I mean, searching for something on the internet's been coined as "googling!"), but the other searches are far easier to get ranked in. Which, I suppose, only makes sense!

I ranked really well in MSN for numerous search terms, but it only provided me with dismay amount of traffic. Google is still king, accounting for 63% of all traffic, PPC and organic. I wonder why MSN didn't pull in the home shoppers in the Portland area.

I think they are equally as bad. I basically recieve very little trafic from either and I rank well in both. Google is the only search engine I would even worry about.

I personally think yahoo is a joke. Our original main key words has the following results in yahoo. Which if you dont click on the link i'll fill you in, has absolutely nothing to do with mid ohio valley real estate.

MSN isnt much better, but at least the first page is a little more relative to the search term.

Google (although not included in the question) is by far the best, not to jump on the train or anything....

Well, after doing a bit of looking around I guess MSN accounts for an average of 60% of our hits in total, Google comes in around 25% and yahoo gives about 15%. Which I will add is odd, because I cant even find our site in yahoo for any targeted terms.

Acually in my market MSN accually supplies the best results. It is strange but for some reason Yahoo and Google like the big companies sites that have nothing to do with our area except they try to capture leads and sell um to agents. Honestly I think googles results for Cedar City Utah Real Estate are a complete joke.
