Press Releases is it worth?

Do you submit press releases and if you believe they work for you?
Could you share some resources.

What I can see - many of the services charge 100-500USD for press release and they say they will put my article on the top news portals including Yahoo G.News etc...

I am still not sure if I am allowed to include my link into the text to have some Google PageRank and clicks coming from press release...\

With a few hundred $, you can use original press release distribution companies. You can also utilize free press release sites. $500 is too much.

I have heard of PRWeb before - it is really expensive.

Does anybody have a list of places to do official press releases that are reasonably priced?

The value is far more in the links you will get than in the content. That is of course unless you have something truly exceptional to share. In either case, yes I believe them to be worth doing about twice a year.

With a paid service, you do not have to worry about learning the ropes of press release writing. You no longer need to research about the right format for a release.

It's about news outlets picking the story up in their feed and you getting those backlinks more so than the news outlet "caring."
