It can go either way, and usually does, on a daily basis.

Sorry for sounding ignorant but is there an easier way to know what page your website will show up on a Google search without actually clicking every page until you find yours?
    Thanks

My site started climbing from the 400's and now it is in the 200's but it has stopped going up. I am curious how old is your site - mine is 4 months old.

mine is 3 years old its was on the first page once upon a time , then it disapeared a few months ago , now its #1 for some minor keywords but for the major keywords its buried , google has seem to have a freeze on. I believe google is controlling who they want on the first page for real estate .
Some sites have no pr and they are on the first page, others no links , some have 20000 links.

It's a never-ending battle. You have to keep an eye on it and put in a little elbow grease occasionally even years down the road.
