    Default Is Blogger Worth It?

    What is the deal with Blogger lately? Have others been experiencing a significant increase in the amount of server issues at Blogger? I've dealt with 3 separate instances in the past 15 days (they're batting a pretty good average there), where I could either not log into my account, could not post something because a 'forbidden' error came up, or lost a post due to server malfunctions that "an engineer is addressing".

    I know that other folks on REW are pushing wordpress pretty hard, and I wanted to know if switching over to a new blog is worth it in terms of uptime and unnecessary headaches around the general blocking and tackling of getting some posts out there.

    Yes, as exhibited by what the 'pro' bloggers are using.

    Plus you get access to your own server logs, google sitemap update with each posting, (maybe some) adsense revenue, technorati tags, a unique (template) look, on and on.

    I chose Wordpress because of what I read in different sources. To me, Blogger is synonymous with a first-time blogger, not a pro. A lot of professional bloggers also use Typepad and others I can't remember at the moment.

    I think Wordpress might offer more templates, plug-ins and other things just because of its popularity. Although it took some time, I learned how to edit the templates offered to get the look I wanted (or as close to it as I could figure out).
    Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

    I find it interesting that Matt Cutts uses Word Press over Blogger. Google owns Blogger. I would think he would use that software.

    I was not aware of the Google/Blogger relationship, you bring up an interesting point.

    Doc;

    The last part of that poor guy's story is the money quote:

    "Never use a free service on a money generating site."

    Words to live by, folks...

    I feel for him---but a paid blog host doesn't cost much at all...

    Yes, but the hosting isn't.
