    rebelbwb,

I called the MLS provider for NE GA MLS recently and they told me two things:

    1. They will build a file that you have to pull via FTP
    2. They want to you hard link your images for each of the properties listed on their server

My intent was to build a custom solution for my client where we would pull the required listings and display them within his website.

    Doug,

ListingWare appears to operate very similarly to Birdview. Would you recommend trying to keep clients with a 3rd party host and using frames or some other type of property listing external, or integrate with home-grown database solutions using IDX?

forgive my scatterbrained approach to posting, I've been trying to wrap my head around this thing for a week (until I found this cool forum)

Did they tell you that you had to pull the data file with FTP? We're stilly trying to get a hold of how large our project will be, but haven't seen the size of the initial data files to give our potential client a good feel for how much bandwidth he's going to eat up by hosting on his own server.

    thanks for any help/advice

Forgive me... I didn't get an email notification of your reply.

I frame ListingWare into my site, though I like many of the other offerings that are available.

If you have the money to have a customized solution designed for you - I say go for it. At one time, my site was the busiest one that ListingWare served. Now, with hundreds of other agents providing the exact same service... I am lost in the crowd.

The datafeed with images is around 20 gigs I think - we have built this system for a few people now, here is another example we put into an REW template - if you need some help with the coding let us know - its about 30 hours coding time for us including Google mapsearch of properties. >>>> http://www.realsourcebrokers.com/idx/map/?load_page=map

I have Listingware on a Georgia client's site at BillHudsonRealtor.com. While it's very flexible, I think it leaves a lot to be desired aesthetically. (To be honest, I think it's really ugly.) You might also check to see if 1ParkPlace or Wolfnet are available in your area. Cherie Young (cherieyoung.com), who handles SEO and SEM for some of my clients, really likes both for lead generation. 1ParkPlace has a nice Flash demo of its IDX solution.
