    Default Finalizing projects

I am wondering if you guys have any words of wisdom for me. Right now I have a ton of websites designed, and just sitting there because we are waiting for final content from clients. The IDX's are built, our part of the content is written etc, and all we are waiting for is like the about us page, the sellers page, the buyers page etc from the clients.

Now these guys are spending thousands to get their sites developed and in the beginning they are super gung ho, but it seems like they never want to make them live, whats up with that? We get to the home stretch just a few little things and we can push the start button, but the client's procrastinate - It drives me crazy sometomes! A perfect example is http://www.southernarizonaproperties.com/ - just waiting on the visitors guide (They said they had content for) a couple of other pages and its done.

So my question is - besides doing what I already do (Weekly phone call, follow up email etc) what can I do to light a fire under these guys? I mean they have already paid for it and I want to get it making them some commissions. What could I say to you to get you to send me that last little bit of content, that bio we have been waiting for.
    Frustrated!

I don't know what you could say. I'm in the same boat. I haven't put much into the site I bought from you guys yet (2 pages and a framed MLS search page). I just don't have the time right now.

And you started out so well lol - well in your case its a little different, you have access to your site, and if you dont do anything with it thats your call. But in many cases, once the sites go live, we stand to make more $ in terms of link building, extra copywriting, PPC managment etc. Hey speaking of copywriting http://www.mybrevardrealestate.com looks like it could use some

That MLS search doesn't work very well. We just switched to a new MLS provider in December and the transition has been pretty ruff.
As far Oracle. I have no idea man. I'm not that technical.
I may be interested in some copywriting. PM Sent.

I have helped a lot of locals by giving them the point2 invitations. As you know there is a great tutorial for that product. The handshake listings make it a good thing for those that have no listings to be able to display others listings and those with listings get them displayed on more sites. So benefits all parties including buyers and sellers.

What do they do with their new sites? Nothing. Other than one or two invitees they just keep a canned site and never enter the backend. Oh they want the web business, but make no effort to get it. They don't understand and don't want to. They think they can buy great results, but then won't put out any effort of their own.

The stats for internet prospects getting no response from an agent are probably pretty accurate in that many of these people get websites but don't check their e-mail. We had a client that came to us after no response from another agents site, a month latter the client sent us a copy of the response they got from the original agent they contacted - after they had closed with us.

We had one agent tell us we were crazy, that she had a web site for years and had never gotten a lead on it. "Why are you spending time on that? Lets go have a drink! You are just wasting your time!" She also is not able to e-mail particularly well so her assistant does that for her. "Oh, you can pay someone to do that for you!" Hah, we don't have a subdivision listed, she does.

I now tell people that if they aren't willing to put any effort into it, they don't really need a web site.

In the end we can't set the priotities of our clients. All you can do is continue to send friendly reminders and hopefully, eventually, they'll find the time to finish.
