So, there is a good chance that I will be moving out of Boulder in the near future. The thought of selling my domain has crossed my mind. I'm sitting there today, and in pops one of those intra-office emails stating that someone is selling their domain, so I figure, let me take a look at this and see how I stack up.
The person was selling boulderproperties . com, and stated that they had received estimates on the domain ranging from $10,000 to $32,000. I was utterly shocked. Given, it's a solid name, so I figure, let's check this thing out and see what kind of pull the site has out there....it's got 5 inbound links that MSN recognizes, none from google, none from yahoo, and no PR.
Turn the table a bit, and look at my domain, djtrealestate.com. Well, the name itself stinks, at least it has real estate in it, and it's obvious that when I branded with that name, I had no forward-thinking vision that I would sell the thing. However, I've worked hard on my linking, building solid content, and have a PR of 4. I just made the front page on Yahoo, am top in MSN for a lot of searches, however, not yet in Google.
Any reasonable idea as to how much someone would be willing to pay if I were to sell out - with or without coverting the actual html over to them so it would be a turnkey solution for them?
