    Default coldfusion mls or idx

    Hello everyone,
I'm making coldfusion script or website i should say. That is ofcourse that is realtor script.

I got done with the part where the admin can insert, update, delete stuff what he adds.

I saw on couple of sites that there is a way idx or mls where it can get lots of property automaticlly from idx service provider.

IDX on the other thread i saw was around $700. Its kinda expensive for a guys like me just starting.

Is there free idx/mls provider? And little more info would be appriciated.

I'm looking for suggestions or features i should add to my site.

    Thanks in advance!

IDX is a datafeed you get from the MLS board - you must be a broker in order to apply for a feed for your area. Are you a real estate broker? IDX data is not available for web vendors.

contact the MLS in your area and ask. But...the information in the MLS is owned by the MLS association and the MLS members are the real estate agents that go out and get the listings. So question number one might be for you to explain what your real estate website would be about and would it support the agents who work so hard to get the listings.

I already added the feature that agents can list their listing. The basic stuff is all added.

Now i saw that there is a way to get listing that agents dont add to their website. That is mls/idx.

I wanted to take the application to the next level.

I doubt there is a free IDX provider. This is due to the very nature of IDX -- it's highly customizable and flexible, more so than your average, free MLS solution provided by your realtor board to its every agent free of charge.

So the people who write these IDX scripts and applets naturally would like something in return for their work.

I would even be willing to pay a reasonable price for something out there that would be easily customizable.

Do you (or anyone else out there) have any suggestions of a good custom app for MLS / IDX?

    Thanks

Depending on where your looking, you can get a free IDX if you're an agent. However, it's not like a custom IDX solution that's SE friendly. Most of them are just iframed and inserted into the website. It will be interesting to see what you create with Coldfusion.
