    Default Pre-Made websites with IDX?

    Hi everyone,

I'm a new agent in SoCal and I'm trying to get my listings online. Are there services that provide sites with IDX and MLS already built in? I found this one: siteauthor.com

Has anyone dealt with them? Or have any other services they recommend?

    Thanks!

    Bob

I haven't heard anything about this company but I didn't see much going on in the search engines for their own site. This might be something to check into further.

Bobbie91 - As vendors for the Socal MLS we are very familiar with the process for application and implementation of IDX. When you want an IDX datafeed, each individual site must go through the application process (Each realtor) you can't just buy a site with pre-packaged IDX as web developers are not licenced to show IDX data, only realtors are - we get the data so that we can process it for a realtor, once thier account has been approved by socalmls.

You can however run across someone who has developed a custom IDX for some one in your MLS system before. This should save time and money on the development side because they have been there, done that sort of speak. REW has even suggested that you could get 10 of your agent in your office together and split the costs for the development and hosting.

That is true memphis, however even if they split the cost and got it developed for 10 sites (Save money on the coding as we are just mostly duplicating it for each) - Each agent would still individually have to go through the application process and get the site they wanted to put the solution approved on.

For SoCal, an individual site would be between 30-40 hours to implement, for 10 sites, probably like 60-80 hours (This is just a rough estimate) so if you had 10 agents they would pay like 6-8 hours each. Hmmmm why dont people do this more often lol

Thanks. Everyone in my office is content with non-SEO sites. Everyone cringes at spending over $30 a month for a site.
I guess that will be good for me in the long run.
