Search Engine Placement and Promotion.

I went to the movies the other day and read this ad on the screen:

"Without advertising something terrible happens... Nothing!"

I couldn't agree more. If nobody knows about your site then nobody is going to visit your site.

High search engine placement is great, when you can get it, but what can you do when your pages aren't even ranked in the top 10,000? How do you build traffic today?

In a word, "Promotion." I'm referring to promotion on and off the web.

Real Life Example: Two (2) weeks ago I launched my Arizona Multiple Listing Service website. Obviously no page rank. Only a handful of pages indexed. However, I've already received three (3) buyer inquiries, two (2) advertising conversions and I took my first exclusive listing this morning.

My point, you don't have to rank high in the search engines to make money with your real estate website but you do have to promote it. Search engine placement is great but it isn't everything. Promotion, well that's another story and another thread.

Well Jeff, create a new thread, would love to see your ideas on promotions. I'm not into that side of it since i deal with seo, but it does pique my interest. (and if you aren't ranked in the top 10'000 for your keywords, you need to hire me)
