    Question Framing an external link?

If this has been covered I could not find it.

How do we frame an external link so that the clients "stay" on our site?

With that asked, is there an SEO issue with having it framed with in our site instead of allowing them to open a new window and totally meander through out the INTERNET and possibly forgetting where all that wonderful content was coming from?

What would the tag be? I use Coffee Cup to keep track of my pages for easy re-upload when I goof up my site through CMS (not that I have ever done it on an hourly basis or anything).

I picked up a frame code which I used for my VOW although Aaron had to fix it because of the size constraint which resulted in too much scrolling in order to use my VOW search.

However, I'm leery of using it for other sites because I'm really not sure what the rules are regarding this. On my first Point2 site I had Google local framed & it was cached by Google & showed PR so I wasn't penalized by them for doing it.

But after I learned about content theft & such I'm kind of afraid of framing stuff into my site.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.

    In html mode

    Code:
    <iframe src="http://www.thepageyouwantoframe.com" frameborder="0" height="500" width="500"></iframe>
You can mess around with the height and width to best fit your page

You might want to put this in the tutorial section. I copied it, I just need to play around with it.

Can I ask a stupid question? Is this the same as iframing?

    I am a RE/MAX agent.
If I have a link with in an article that redirects to REMAX.com and I frame it; is that going to hurt my SERP? or considered bad by "G" ?

for all intents and purposes cherie yes it is the same. Framing is technically when your entire page is a page derived from another webpage location, whereas iframing is placing a frameset within your content, so part of the page is your own and part is coming from somewhere else.

Memphis, you will not get penalized for frames, search engines cannot read them thus they arent even aware (Nor do they care) what you do with your frames. This is why framed websites are so bad, because search engines can't read all the quality unique content you write for your pages.

Thanks. Don't want to drop a NUKE on my site before it gets off the ground.
I will minimize framing at all costs, but do so when necessary.
