Hmm, yeah the 1969 thing is unusual. It actually shows the cache date as 31 Dec 1969 23:59:59 GMT for every page of our site thats indexed (around 1000 at the moment). The site is updated daily with many new pages and Google is pretty quick at indexing them and updating the cache for existing pages but the date is always wrong. It has been suggested it was caused by one of their servers being hacked and the date defaulting back to 1/1/70 which is day 1 for most computers. I keep toying with the idea of contacting Google to see if they can fix it but I'm always worried it may effect my site's listing (althougfh at the moment I'm in the so called sandbox).Originally Posted by chachi
Anyway, that aside I have noticed seperate incidents of the cache command not working for newer pages on sites, and theses are sites without screwy dates like mine. Can't remember exact incidents but I will do some homework and show a few examples. I woul;n't say it's anything major but it's enough to prove the command isn't 100% accurate.
