    Default Press Release

I sent a press release out over PRWeb. Here are my Day one Results.

Reads 23,086 This number tells you how many times your press release was accessed from our site and other distribution points where we have the ability to measure a click through. This number does not include the number of journalists who have received your release through email. In addition there are online distribution points that we currently have no ability to track.
Estimated Pickup 180 This number estimates the number of times your press release was picked up by a media outlet. This does not tell you how many times your story appears in the media. It simply attempts to estimate media interest of your release.
    Prints 8

This is the number of times that someone has printed your press release. We measure this by the number of times that the "printer friendly version" link is pressed. In reality, only a small percentage of users actually click this link before printing a release.
Forwards 0 This is the number of times that someone has forwarded your press release to a third party using the link on your press release.
PDF Downloads 6 The number of times your release was downloaded as a PDF document. PDF Downloads may be reflected in "Reads" and "Estimated Pickup" statistics.

Is that about normal numbers for a Press Release. Also how many links approx do you think that will generate.

It's pretty hard to estimate how many links from a stats like that, because you dont know how many outlets leave your links in tact, how many use no follow or redirects etc.

Question, what level of submission did you go for in PR web for those stats?

I did the one that cost 80 bucks. I cant remember what it is called but its the 2 star plan or something like that. I think its a newsworth event so I am really hoping that Topix, Spectrum and Cedar City Review pick it up. That would be awesome. The links are really just a super nice side benifit.

Didn't see the article when I poked for it on prweb.com so I Googled "news" for Cedar City and got it:

Thought people might want to know what you submitted.

Great example of what a good PRWeb submission should be. Good job cedar!

Hmm. I learned something new today. Do you think that annoucing two new members of the RE Team would be something worthy of a press release?

My question on any press release would be:

What makes your press release newsworthy? It is much more likely to be picked up if it speaks about a new product, innovative service, comment about the market, etc.

Personally, I don't see that adding 2 people to an RE team in of itself has a lot to offer but if you explain what the 2 people bring to the team that is new, or can use it to brag about expanding the #2 sales team in XXXX, I see it could be appealing.

At the very least you should send out a mailer to your past clients/spheres bragging about how good these new people are and what it provides to you.
