Wow you guys call losing your remote a bad day?
Well I have a story for you. I've been working graveyard shift lately, so I've been working by myself. Around 2am I had to go to the bathroom really really bad, not really thinking I left for the bathroom in a rush accidentally closing the door behind me (as I was going to be awhile). In most situations, there would be no problem. But the door has a safety lock system, so when the door closed, I was locked out.
I had no keys, no ID, no coat, no nothing. I was pretty dissapointed in myself (obviously), so I was desperatly trying to get back into the office. I knew the local security guard company had keys for the building, and after about 30 minutes I noticed a security guard wandering outside. I asked her if she could let me back in the office, she said "No, not unless your authorized to be there" but after awhile she broke down and decided she would let me in. She then realized she did not have the key for our office door, so she called the alarm company to see if they could get ahole of morgan (webmaster). They didnt get ahold of him, so believe it or not she kicked me out of the building (talk about backfire eh?).
Now I'm out on the streets, cold and pretty much royally screwed. Its about a four hour walk to my house (which I didnt have keys for because I locked those in the office), so I was in now a pretty desperate situation. I was pacing outside when the night clerk at the hotel across the street noticed me and was kind enough to let me inside and use the phone. I phoned a few friends (and pissed off quite a few) and it was really starting to look like I was going to have to sleep in the local park. The last call I made was the desperate call to my dad, and fortuneatly he was woken up by my call and managed to come and pick me up.
Long story short, I make sure the door is totally unlocked now as I come in. As I have pretty bad luck at locking myself out as it wouldn't be the first time I've locked myself out of my office/house before.
Yeah....beat that![]()
